Coaching Program

Amel Houston’s cornerstone initiative is a coaching program designed to connect underserved high school students in Houston, Texas with career and leadership coaching.

Through the coaching process, students participate in assessments and conversations that help them better understand their strengths and areas for development. Coaches work with students to set personalized goals and make concrete plans to achieve the goals. For example, students might work towards a goal such as being a more effective leader on their sports team, becoming more confident speaking up in class, or attending a college or trade school. As students learn about themselves and set goals for their future, they frequently discover creative new ways to overcome obstacles and create new opportunities for themselves. The coaching process helps students lay a solid foundation for their future success.
